Sayembara Kantor dan Sarana Prasarana PPK KEMAYORAN

PPKK adalah Badan Layanan Umum di lingkungan Sekretariat Negara RI yang bertugas mengelola Area eks Bandar Udara Kemayoran seluas 454 Ha. Eks bandara tersebut kemudian dikembangkan menjadi kota baru dalam kota sebagai kota perdagangan dan bisnis skala Internasional atau “Green International Bisnis Distric”. PPKK tengah melakukan percepatan pembangunan, dengan salah satunya adalah membangun komplek kantor PPKK sekaligus sarana prasarananya, sebagai pemenuhan pusat informasi pemasaran bersama di kawasan Kemayoran.

Kawasan Komplek Kemayoran di masa depan mengarah pada pembangunan kota yang Modern, Nyaman, Ramah dan Amanah. Untuk itu PPKK perlu mendorong berbagai inovasi dan kreatifitas dalam mewujudkan pembangunan kota baru tersebut dengan tetap mempertahankan konsep asri, manusiawi, tanpa pagar dan ramah. Kota Kemayoran direncanakan akan menjadi kota yang lebih manusiawi dengan memberikan kenyamanan pada pejalan kaki melalui pembangunan jalur pedestrian yang ideal disamping area hijau di sisi kanan/kirinya, pengarahan pergerakan orang dalam jarak pendek dan pergerakan antar blok yang nyaman dan terpadu.

Terbuka bagi seluruh Anggota IAI Perorangan/kelompok profesional ber-SKA Madya/Utama dengan telah melunasi iuran keanggotaan tahun 2010, dan membayar registrasi sebesar Rp.200.000,-.

SAYEMBARA DESAIN RUMAH 2011

Majalah Housing Estate bekerja sama dengan pengembang Summarecon Serpong bersama Mortar Utama (MU) dan DULUX, serta didukung oleh Ikatan Arsitek Indonesia (IAI) Jakarta menyelenggarakan “Sayembara Desain Rumah 2011”.

TEMA DAN KETENTUAN DESAIN

Peserta dibebaskan memilih satu tema perancangan rumah yakni Klasik atau Modern Tropis.

Peserta diminta merancang satu paket karya berisi tiga desain rumah (satu tema) pada tiga ukuran kaveling yang berbeda. Salah satu kaveling yang dipilih harus berupa lahan sudut (hoek).

Kategori Profesional untuk Lulusan Sarjana Teknik di bidang Arsitektur dan arsitek profesional Perseorangan atau kelompok (maksimum tiga orang)

Komplek Kemayoran yang terletak di bekas bandar udara internasional Kemayoran akan dikembangkan menjadi kawasan bisnis, perkantoran, olah raga, rekreasi, seni dan hunian yang mandiri, moderen dan terpadu (one stop service).

Komplek Kemayoran memiliki 100 Ha kawasan olah raga terdisi antara lain sebuah Padang Golf 18 Hole seluas 58 hektar dengan sebuah danau yang indah dan teduh di dalamnya. Club House akan dibangun kembali dengan kualitas Hotel Bintang Lima Plus.

AIA Ideas Competition 2011

The AIA Young Architects Forum (YAF) and the AIA Committee on Design (COD) invites architects, students, and allied design professionals to submit sketches to the international 2011 YAF/COD Ideas Competition.

In this unique sketch competition, submitters are asked to explore the concept of Universal Design as well as their overlap with values of social and environmental sustainability.

Winners will be announced and will have their work exhibited at the American Institute of Architects (AIA) 2011 National Convention and Design Exposition in New Orleans, Louisiana, May 12-14, 2011. Selected entries will be displayed on the website.

LATAR BELAKANG

Keberagaman budaya Indonesia dalam segi arsitektural telah memiliki solusi untuk menyelesaikan masalah-masalah yang biasa dihadapi penduduk lokal, seperti iklim tropis, serangan binatang buas, masalah geologi, dan lain-lain. Sebagai contoh, bahan yang digunakan sebagai konstruksi dan fasade bangunan adalah kayu, bambu, dan bahan-bahan alami lainnya. Hal ini dikarenakan melimpahnya bahan tersebut pada saat itu. Tidak hanya itu, konstruksi yang digunakan merupakan teknologi konstruksi sederhana yang tahan gempa sesuai dengan kondisi geologi kepulauan Indonesia yang terbagi atas lempengan-lempengan.

Dewasa ini, bahan-bahan alami semakin langka karena banyaknya eksploitasi dan kurang sadarnya masyarakat untuk menjaga kelestarian sumber daya alam, sehingga bahan dan konsep tersebut mulai ditinggalkan sebagian besar masyarakat dan beralih ke teknologi yang diciptakan negara Barat, terlebih pada bangunan-bangunan komersial tersebut kurang sesuai dengan konsep budaya Indonesia.

Oleh karena beberapa permasalahan tersebut di atas, dibutuhkan bangunan komersial yang mempunyai gabungan antara sains dan teknologi sesuai dengan konsep budaya Indonesia sehingga tidak terpaku dengan teknologi di jaman dahulu dan tidak berkembang, serta sesuai dengan konteks perkotaan (urban) yang ada di lokasi tapak, sehingga bangunan tersebut diharapkan dapat bertahan sampai 15 tahun ke depan, bahkan lebih.

KETENTUAN SAYEMBARA
1. Peserta sayembara terdiri dari kelompok (maksimal 3 orang) atau individu.
2. Bangunan yang didesain berjenis bangunan komersial
3. Lokasi bebas, bisa diasumsikan lahan kosong, luas maksimum tapak 5000 m2
4. Bangunan terletak di daerah urban
5. Penggunaan material menggunakan material yang ada di daerah sekitar tapak yang akan dibangun, maksimal radius 25 km dari tapak
6. Tinggi bangunan maksimal 8 lantai (disesuaikan dengan kebutuhan ruang)
7. Desain bangunan harus tanggap terhadap iklim dan lingkungan sekitar
8. Produk yang dihasilkan berisi gambar konsep, siteplan, layout plan, tampak, potongan, serta perspektif 3D.
9. Hasil karya dikirimkan dalam format .jpg dengan kualitas 300 pixel/inch. Format penyajian hasil karya berukuran kertas A3 maksimal 3 lembar.
10. Peserta hanya bisa mengirimkan maksimal 2 hasil karya.

Sayembara Perancangan Koridor Jl. Jnd. Sudirman – Jl. RE Martadinata

Solo – Eco Cultural City! Brand tersebut akan diusung oleh Walikota Joko Widodo untuk konsep pembangunan di Kota Solo lima tahun kedepan. Gagasan/konsep tersebut dikembangkan untuk mewujudkan Kota Solo menjadi kota ramah lingkungan yang layak huni dan berbasis pada budaya/kearifan local yang berkembang seiring dengan pertumbuhan Kota Solo.

Gagasan kota ramah lingkungan yang berbasis budaya tersebut sejalan dengan gerakan Kota Hijau yang telah berjalan selama empat dasawarsa, khususnya di Negara-negara maju. Seperti yang diungkapkan oleh Prof. Ir. Eko Budiharjo, M.Sc melalui salah satu tulisannya di media Kompas; Gerakan Kota Hijau diwujudkan melalui prinsip-prinsip : “Pertama, tata guna lahan yang menghargai alam, menjaga badan air, topografi dan ruang terbuka. Kedua, orientasi pada pejalan kaki (pedestrian) dengan pola lingkungan swasembada sehingga warga kota dapat berbelanja, berekreasi, bersekolah, bersosialisasi dengan berjalan kaki saja. Ketiga, pendayagunaan system transportasi umum terpadu dilandasi prinsip Transit Oriented Development, dengan menempatkan kawasan permukiman, perkantoran, perdagangan, dekat stasiun atau simpul transportasi. Keempat, memanfaatkan berbagai metode untuk memperlambat laju kendaraan agar jalan raya menjadi lebih aman dan nyaman, lazim disebut dengan traffic calming. Kelima, intensifikasi penggunaan lahan agar kota menjadi kompak, dengan prinsip pusat-pusat jamak, polisentris, atau multicenter.

Pengejawantahan konsep Solo - Eco Cultural City akan diaplikasikan, salah satunya, pada penataan koridor Jalan Jenderal Sudirman sampai Jalan RE Martadinata. Penataan tersebut diharapkan mampu mewujudkan koridor Jalan Jenderal Sudirman sampai Jalan RE Martadinata menjadi salah satu etalase Kota Surakarta yang dapat merepresentasikan Gerakan Kota Hijau (Solo - Eco Cultural City) di Kota Surakarta.Untuk memenuhi kebutuhan penataan koridor tersebut, Pemerintah Kota Surakarta membuka sayembara Perancangan Koridor Jalan Jenderal Sudirman sampai Jalan RE Martadinata. The Brisbane Ideas Competition 2011

The Competition

The 2011 Brisbane Ideas Competition is a forum for discussion about the future of Brisbane. It is open to all members of the public and is intended to encourage debate and discovery. The theme of this year's competition is expressed in the two following questions;

"What is missing from Brisbane?" & "What does Brisbane need for the future?"

There is a large amount of public infrastructure built, under construction and planned for Brisbane. There are new people visiting and moving to Brisbane each week. How will the city adapt to climate change? All of these factors influence the future and add to the cultural mix of the city. But what is missing? what is needed? This competition aims to discover your visions for Brisbane and imagine a positive future of what could be.

By proposing these intentionally broad and ambiguous questions we hope to encourage debate and discussion across a wide fields about the future of our city. As a practice of ethical professionals who understand and appreciate our responsibility to the future generations who occupy our city, we hope the inaugural Brisbane Ideas competition will facilitate debate, discussion and discovery.

It is the hope that the broad entry requirements will solicit entries across a wide range of disciplines, from Architecture, Art, Science, Urban Design, Engineering among others. While we expect a wide range of entries, please ensure they are all graphically represented and meet the submission requirements. We would encourage entries from the large urban scale thru to the bespoke artefact.

The final outcome of the competition will be a series of exhibitions throughout the city, opening with a one month exhibition of the grand prize winner and the honourable mentions. Held in a public venue in the heart of the central business district, adjacent to the government precinct of the city, . It is through this wide and continued exposure that the the competition will encourage discussion and debate about the proposals and the future of our city. Finally this is expected to be a fun competition.

Salah satu penyedia kompetisi arsitektur terkemuka di Eropa, The Schindler Award, membuka aplikasi untuk kompetisi Arsitektur award 2010.

Mahasiswa Arsitektur diundang untuk mengajukan ide2 desain yang visioner dan berkelanjutan untuk menata arsitektur kawasan tua di area Berlin Olympic Games 1936. Pusat dan Tema dari kompetisi Arsitektur kali ini adalah tentang aksessibilatas publik dengan judul "Access for All", yang mengutamakan karakteristik desain yang bebas akses bagi penyandang cacat dan orang2 tua yang lanjut usisa (barrier free access), untuk memfasilitasi kemudahan bergerak dan bersosialisasi di ruang publik.

The Schindler Award merupakan kesempatan yang sangat besar bagi para calon Arsitek untuk memberi kontribusi dan pemikiran yang berarti bagi komunitas di sekitarnya dan internasional.

Aplikasi proyek yang sudah selesai harus dimasukkan selambat2nya pada tangga 30 July 2010.

China: HKBCF Design Ideas Competition

The Competition invites qualified professionals in the fields of architecture, engineering, landscape architecture, planning and surveying and the general public to contribute ideas and concepts on the design for the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge (HZMB) Hong Kong Boundary Crossing Facilities (HKBCF) for reference and future implementation by the Government of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSARG). A competition co-organized by 4 government departments and 5 professional institutions in Hong Kong to invite design ideas globally and encourage public participation in development of a new boundary crossing facilities. The aim is to construct one of the most innovative, attractive, efficient, users and environmentally friendly boundary crossing facilities with advanced technology and energy efficient design. Sayembara Desain Arsitektur ITB 2010

Mulai tahun 2010 ITB berencana membangun 4 (empat) gedung baru dengan ketinggian bangunan hingga 10 lantai. Keempat bangunan tersebut akan didirikan di dalam lingkungan bersejarah Kampus Ganesha di bagian utara. Pembangunan tersebut akan didanai sebagian oleh pinjaman dari the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) dan sebagian oleh Pemerintah Indonesia. Sayembara dibagi dalam 2 paket desain.

Sayembara Paket I
Paket kompetisi ini terdiri dari usulan desain awal (Preliminary Design) dari tiga buah gedung dan desain ulang Gerbang Utara Kampus ITB. Ketiga gedung tersebut terletak pada bagian utara kampus ITB, dengan rincian sebagai berikut:

1. Center for Advanced Studies (CAS)
2. Center for Research and Community Services (CRCS)
3. Center for Arts, Design and Language (CADL)

Sayembara Paket II
Sayembara Paket 2 terdiri dari atas perancangan satu Gedung Center for Infrastructure and Built Environment (CIBE). Gedung ini akan dibangun di sekitar titik 6°53'29" LS, 107°36'31" BT, yaitu di sebelah barat Gedung Program Studi Fisika dan Program Studi Teknik Sipil, dan sebelah utara dari Gedung Basic Science. Gedung CIBE ini akan diisi dengan fasilitas laboratorium dan kantor untuk Fakultas Teknik Sipil dan Lingkungan (FTSL) ITB. Gedung ini akan memiliki 10 lantai dengan 1 lantai basement dan luas lantai total 11.000 meter persegi.

Kriteria Umum Perancangan
Perlu diperhatikan bahwa rancangan yang akan diajukan hendaknya memenuhi kriteria berikut ini:

•Isu keberlanjutan, terutama isu gedung dengan perawatan mudah dan murah (low maintenance building)
•Memperhatikan konsep bangunan hijau, terutama konsep gedung dengan konsumsi energi yang rendah
•Merespon kondisi khusus dari masing-masing gedung
•Kepraktisan sistem konstruksi dan biaya konstruksi yang rendah (biaya konstruksi antara Rp. 4 juta hingga Rp. 4,5 juta per meter persegi)
•Memperhatikan ketahanan struktur terhadap gempa
•Memperhatikan desain dan akses bagi penyandang cacat
•Mempertahankan lingkungan yang ramah terhadap pejalan kaki dalam kampus ITB
•Mempertahankan suasana hijau lingkungan kampus ITB

Latar Belakang

Taman BMW (Bersih, Manusiawi, Wibawa) penggunaannya telah diresmikan oleh Bapak Gubernur Provinsi DKI Jakarta pada tahun 1996 bertepatan dengan hari Penghijauan Nasional ke XXX. Sebagai Pemerintah Daerah melalui Dinas Pertamanan Provinsi DKI Jakarta sebagai salah satu pengelola dan pemilik aset-aset alam kota, telah dilakukan "gerakan moral" berupa Sayembara Gagasan Perancangan Taman BMW. Sayembara tersebut telah dilaksanakan. Seiring dengan kebutuhan sarana olah raga di DKI yang semakin meningkat demi memajukan prestasi olah raga, melalui Dinas Olahraga dan Pemuda DKI Jakarta maka dengan taman yang cukup luas, sebagian akan digunakan sebagai komplek stadion sepakbola yang dilengkapi dengan fasilitas pendukung, antara lain futsal, voli pantai, sepakbola pantai dan olahraga air.

Persyaratan Keikutsertaan

1. Peserta sayembara adalah para arsitek anggota IAI yang memiliki SKA minimal Madya yang masih aktif (telah melunasi iuran tahun 2009). Pesertanya adalah perseorangan dan jika diperlukan peserta dapat dibantu oleh pendukungnya atau kelompok.

2. Tidak diperkenankan bagi para pihak-pihak yang berkaitan dengan dewan juri baik secara pribadi maupun profesional untuk mengikuti sayembara (saudara / rekan kerja satu kantor), guna menghindari konflik kepentingan.

The launch of eVolo Magazine is a step closer to our objective to provide a forum for showcasing the most innovative, the most avant-garde designs that will define architecture in this century. After several years of organizing the annual Skyscraper Competition it has become a renowned architectural prize around the world. The best projects of each competition are widely published from architecture, design, and fashion publications to technology, business, and entertainment magazines. The winning projects are also featured in websites, television documentaries, and galleries.

We would like to invite students and professional architects, engineers, and designers to take part in the 2010 Skyscraper Competition. The main idea of this contest is to examine the relationship between the skyscraper and the natural world, the skyscraper and the community and the skyscraper and urban living.

In the last few years we have seen hundreds of new skyscrapers been developed around the world without careful consideration to the context or environment. There is a constant lack of urban planning and poor architectural design without intellectual or perceptual enjoyment. The aim of the competition is to push our imagination to redefine the term skyscraper through the use of new materials, technology, aesthetics, programs, and spatial organizations. Globalization, environmental warming, flexibility, adaptability, and the digital revolution are just some of the multi-layered elements that should be taken in consideration.

There are no restrictions in regards to site, program or size. The objective is to provide maximum freedom to propose the most innovative projects for this fascinating architectural genre. SUBMISSION REQUIREMENTS

This is a digital competition and no hardcopies are necessary. Entrants will submit their proposal via email no later than January 18, 2010 (23:00 hours US Eastern Time) to the following email address: skyscraper2010@evolo-arch.com

The project submission must contain the following files: 1. Two boards with the project information including plans, sections, and perspectives. Participants are encouraged to submit all the information they consider necessary to explain their proposal. These boards should be 24" X 48" in HORIZONTAL format. The resolution of the boards must be 150 dpi, RGB mode and saved as JPG files. The upper right corner of each board must contain the participation number. There should not be any marks or any other form of identification. The files must be named after the registration number followed by the board number. For example: 0101-1.jpg and 0101-2.jpg.

2. A DOC file containing the entrants personal information, including name, profession, address, and email. This file must be named after the registration number followed by the word "info". For example: 0101-info.doc.

3. All the files must be placed in a ZIP folder named after your registration number. For example: 0101.zip

REGULATIONS

This is an anonymous competition and the registration number is the only means of identification. The personal information files will be kept by the General Advisor and will not be opened until the Jury has selected the award winners.

Taipei Pop Music Center International Competition

To encourage pop music creation, patronage performing talents and teams, integrate relevant peripheral industrial development, the R.O.C. plans to build a large pop music performing center in Taipei with outdoor performing plaza and relevant measures. With an area of approximately 7.65 hectares, the center base is located in Nangang District, Taipei City, nearby the MRT Kunyang Station. The principal space design comprises of an indoor performing hall with 4500-6000 seats, an outdoor performing space with 15000 standing seats, hall of fame, a digital library, a medium and small indoor exhibition and performing live house, industrial communities and incubation space, etc. We cordially invite outstanding design teams at home and abroad to custom design a unique performing space for Taiwan's pop music operation and development by taking into consideration all music types and the development trend of international pop music.

Total Construction Budget:
The total construction budget (direct construction cost) is about NT＄3,500,000,000 (about US＄106,000,000) including the construction costs of various work items. The tenderer shall use this amount as the basis for estimating construction costs.

The RIAI (Royal Institute of the Architects of Ireland) is administering a single stage ideas competition on behalf of the competition promoters, Galway Harbour Company.

Galway Harbour Company is seeking ideas for a significant building to be located on the Centre Pier, in Galway Harbour. The building should reflect Galway’s importance as a maritime and cultural city and offer a clear image and potential branding for the City of the Tribes. Competitors should assume a budget of €3,000 per m². Competitors will be asked to design a building which incorporates a public stage, exhibition area, retail space, marina facilities, tourist information kiosk and commercial offices.

There will be two separate categories for submissions.

Category A is open to architects. Category B is open to recent architectural graduates and current students.

The competition is an open international competition in order to prepare the component of master plan for the river city Banjarmasin, South Borneo. The topic is the river city Banjarmasin: Planning Concept and Idea Competition. The planning theme is to plan physical development of Banjarmasin city: space and infrastructure arrangement of the city those based on characters, river form and ecological behavior for sustainability of urban economic, social and cultural.

Introduction
In 2009, the government of Banjarmasin City will hold International Competition on Urban Planning Concept and Ideas of Banjarmasin City based on the river system. Banjarmasin is the capital city of South Kalimantan (Borneo), one of Province in Indonesia. The city is laid on flood-prone waterways, located on delta near the Barito-Martapura rivers junction. Banjarmasin has developed on almost 105 rivers, creeks, and canals, so it is famous as the River City.
Since many years ago, rivers have influenced characteristic of the city, in accordance with physical condition, ecology, culture, and economy. For example, many houses are built on rafts or stilts over the water. People using the river as a major transportation, floating market, and most of their menu based on fish and vegetable grown around the river bank.
Nowadays, development of Banjarmasin has hardly paid attention to their river system and neglected them, and the city had lost their river image and impression, the natural resources, and their river culture. Development orientation of the city has changed from river-base to land-base, which valued the rivers just as a complement not as a heart of living as before. Now, we have to realize that existence of these hundred rivers must be part of the city arrangement and development.

The Competition
To control and to overcome the negative and destructive impacts of city development on the rivers and to protect local cultural heritage and city natural beauty, the Banjarmasin city government conduct an international competition on “The River City of Banjarmasin Planning Concept and Idea Competition”. The competition goals are to draw fresh, innovative and new ideas toward further improvement of the physical environment of Banjarmasin city as an international city based on river system.
The competition will give participants the opportunities to propose the conceptual plans and ideas, and to participate in the creation of new vibrant communal and commercial spatial typologies along the waterway. Plans and Ideas from the participants of the competition will illustrate the potential of the city those integrated with identity and local culture, river ecology, and sustainable development.
The final result of the competition is the planning concept and idea of Banjarmasin city development that based on the river system. It will use as technical development planning and detail design for implementation of sustainable development of Banjarmasin city regarding to Indonesian government rules and laws. Design Challenge:
Applicants are to propose community gathering spaces that meet the requirements of specific places, scales, and mechanisms, approaching the theme from the standpoint of architectural solutions for the present and the future.

Drawings
The following must be included with an application: Floor plan, cross section, site plan (at any scale), and perspective diagram or photo of model. Applicants are free to add charts, diagrams and descriptive text to help describe their proposals. Descriptive texts must be within 100 words.

Materials
Applicants must complete all drawings, illustrative matter, and texts on one sheet of thick drawing paper (600mm×840mm). They may use blueprint, pencil, ink, color, and photographs.

Submission
On the back of an entry, applicants must attach a piece of paper bearing their name, address, age, telephone or fax number, and e-mail address. Also they must indicate the name, address, and telephone or fax number of their school or place of employment. In the case of group applications, applicants should provide the same information and indicate one individual as the representative of the group.

LBC3 is an international design competition focused on facilitating future material reuse. Lifecycle building includes design for deconstruction and adaptive reuse--principles that support cost-effective disassembly and anticipate the future reuse of building materials. Submit your innovative project, design, or idea in Building and Product categories to conserve building materials and reduce greenhouse gas emissions by preserving embodied energy. This year LBC3 is open to US and international student and professional participants, and is sponsored by the American Institute of Architects (AIA) and the U. S. Middle East: Towards MidEastPan - Design Ideas Competition

With the launch of MidEastPan and towards the Forum of Themes and Sites in the coming September a Design Ideas Competition is being held. The competition is an open invitation for ideas and projects within the Built Environment in the Middle East. Projects can be of any scale (communal, local, national, regional etc') and to address any location and context (real or not). The competition is open to individuals and teams from the Middle East and is held in two streams: General and Students.

new Germany/Arctic: Arctic Perspective Initiative "Mobile Media-Centric Habitation and Work Unit

This open architecture design competition is open for the submission of proposals for the design of a mobile media-centric facility, life support habitation and work module with renewable energy supply, waste recycling, and communications systems. Proposals are invited from architects, designers, engineers, artists, students, and engineering teams. The design should be an open source mobile architecture/system/machine capable of functioning in extreme as well as temperate climates and containing mass/industrial and amateur production/manufacturing potential. The unit is to serve as a model for mobile research within extreme cold environments, with the ability to incorporate high tech solutions while utilizing sustainable resources.

The Building and Social Housing Foundation is currently seeking entries for the World Habitat Awards 2009 competition. The World Habitat Awards were initiated in 1985 and seek to identify practical, innovative and sustainable solutions to current housing issues faced by countries of the Global South as well as the North, which are capable of being transferred or adapted for use elsewhere. The competition is open to all individuals and organisations, including central and local governments, NGOs, community-based groups, research organisations and the private sector. An award of £10,000 is presented to the winners at the annual United Nations global celebration of World Habitat Day.

new: Call for Submissions for Monu - magazine on urbanism #11 - Clean Urbanism

Ideas and abstracts should be sent by the end of May 2009. MONU #11 will be published in the summer of 2009.

When it comes to Clean Urbanism, a lot of proposals have been made recently for the building of so-called "eco-cities" that produce their own energy from the wind, the sun, bio-fuel, or recycled waste. But it has often been denied that such sources of energy, being integrated directly into cities, are highly inefficient, very expensive, and in the case of wind energy, very noisy. Nevertheless, wind turbines in an urban realm, for example, nowadays feature in almost every urban competition entry that requires sustainable energy concepts. Solar panels on rooftops have become state of the art on innumerable new building designs, however inefficient and expensive they are. The question is: how might we achieve a Clean Urbanism that is socially, economically, and politically, but also environmentally correct? This issue of MONU is meant to initiate an advanced discussion and stimulate new and fresh ideas to discover and increase our understanding of how Clean Urbanism could actually work.

USA: Delaware Valley Green Building Council 2009 Sustainable Design Competition(open student competition):

With the mainstream media's ever growing focus on the benefits of fresh food on physical well being and education, the DVGBC 2009 competition challenge involves the design of a sustainable food co-operative market. The project should act as a stimulus for the local neighborhood and economy in which it is sited. It should serve as a community gathering place, uniting urban areas with surrounding agricultural areas. Similar to the Reading Terminal Market of Philadelphia, the food co-operative must include individual vendors and retail spaces, incorporation environmental and sustainable practices. Inggris: The Art Fund Pavilion Architectural Competition *Baru!
Application Deadline 03rd March 2009 Tent London and The Lightbox have launched an open competition for The Art Fund Pavillion. This is a unique opportunity to design a semi-permanent pavilion that will sit alongside a RIBA award-winning building by Marks Barfield Architects. The international panel, of judges includes Wayne Hemingway and Kieran Long. The winning design will provide additional exhibition space for Woking's new gallery and museum, and will be built with funding by The Art Fund Prize, The UK's largest single art prize of £100,000. The new pavilion will be launched during the London Design Festival 2009.

Inggris: DWA Architects Caring for Older People -International Student Competition

Launch date 5th January 2009; entries to be submitted by 6 March 2009.

DWA Architects are organizing this ideas competition, open to all architectural students. The competition is jointly sponsored by DWA Architects and BUPA Care Homes. The theme of the competition is designing for older people in 60 to 70 years time.

Italia: Metropolitan T shirt competition

The competition is born for designs to be reproduced on T-shirts. The chosen theme for the competition is "metropolitan design", everyday uniqueness. The dominant aspect of the design, along with innovation, dedication, attention to detail, is above all the expression of your own story; all aspects that contribute to characterising the "metropolitan luxury" concept responding to the theme of the competition. Your T-shirt has to be (for someone) a symbol of uniqueness, character and an expression of his or her own values. Amerika: 2009 Young Architects Forum: Foresight -Call for Entries

Young architects and designers are invited to submit work to the annual Young Architects Competition. Projects of all types, either theoretical or real and executed in any medium, are welcome. The jury will select work for presentation in public forums, an on-line installation, and an exhibition at the Architectural League beginning in May 2009.. A poster of the winning entries will be published and distributed nationally, as will a catalogue of winning work published by the Architectural League and Princeton Architectural Press. The Young Architects Forum is an annual competition, series of lectures, and exhibition organized by the Architectural League and its Young Architects Committee. The Forum was established to recognize specific works of high quality and to encourage the exchange of ideas among young people who might otherwise not have a forum.

Amerika: Great Places Awards 2009- Call for Entries

Celebrating excellent places and how people inhabit them. Places: Forum of Design for the Public Realm, EDRA, the Environmental Design Research Association, in cooperation with Metropolis magazine announce the twelfth annual Great Places Awards. Unique in the ever-expanding universe of award programs, our concern is for good places and how people inhabit them. We seek entries of exemplary work, inviting participation from a range of design and research disciplines, recognizing projects whose significance extends beyond any one profession or field. Projects should emphasize a link between research and practice, demonstrating how an understanding of human interaction with place can inspire design.

Amerika: Ceramic Tiles of Italy Design Competition 2009

Completed submissions to be received no later than February 06, 2009.

For the 2009 edition of this annual competition, North American architects and interior designers are invited to submit domestic and international new construction and renovation projects completed between January 2004 and January 2009. A panel of design experts will judge the projects based on their creativity, functionality and aesthetic appeal. The official criterion for the jury includes: overall design of the project, innovative use of tile, tile design, quality of installation and degree that tile enhances the setting.

Slovenia: TRIMO URBAN CRASH international competition for students of architecture

Deadline until 31 January 2009.

Architecture students of 11 European countries are invited to participate in the second running Trimo Urban Crash competition organised by Trimo, one of Europe's leading suppliers of construction solutions. Students are invited to design an object for a given location in the centre of the Slovenian capital of Ljubljana. The winning project will be built and taken into permanent use on location in June 2009. The winner will also be awarded paid summer school attendance at an internationally acclaimed architectural school. This year's task is designing an urban meeting place, an information spot or an alternative cultural stage made with Trimo products.

Cina: Shanghai Qingpu -International Competition of Conceptual Urban Design

Submission Jan 31st 2009.

Competition is endorsed by the Government of Qingpu District and Shanghai Urban Planning Administration Bureau, and organized by Shanghai Qingpu New Urban Area Construction Development Co. Ltd., and di Magazine. The aim is to collect creative ideas from all of the world for sustainable construction and development in the west region of Qingpu District, Shanghai, and to provide a basic reference for the detailed planning later.

Inggris: Nationwide Sustainable Housing Awards

The closing date for entries is Friday 16 January 2009.

Nationwide Building Society announces the launch of the Sustainable Housing Awards in partnership with the Royal Institute of British Architects. The annual ideas competition is open to all undergraduate architecture and design students. The competition aims to stimulate and reward innovative thinking about how people can live more sustainably in the future. Students are invited to present sustainable design ideas for one of three categories: existing housing, new build or community/neighbourhood.

The Architectural Commission of the United States Institute for Theatre & Technology (USITT) has announced calls for entries for its 3rd annual student Architectural Design Competition to design an "Ideal Theatre" on an academic campus. The competition is open to any U.S. or International architecture and theater student at an accredited college or university. Architecture students are asked to work with a theater student, or group of theater students, as a "Client." The client will outline a program and requirements for an ideal theater for teaching professional theater. The enrolled architecture student, or group of students, will serve as the "Design Team" on the project. Through a series of design meetings with the client, the student architectural team will design a $25 million Center for Performing Arts with 400 to 600 seats for campus productions.

Amerika: Competition to find perfect green space for Astley Village

Submission deadline is January 7th 2009.

RIBA has launched a two stage competition to find a design team, who will help deliver a landscaping/environmental improvements scheme for Astley Village in Chorley, Lancashire. The competition is being organised on behalf of Places for People, one the UK's largest property maintenance and regeneration companies and is open to all practising architects, landscape architects, town planners and urban designers.

Amerika: National Wildflower Centre International Open Design Competition

Deadline for Stage One submissions is 7 January 2009.

The RIBA Competitions Office announces the launch of an international open competition for the design of an innovative, architecturally striking educational, conference and seed production complex at the National Wildflower Centre in the Liverpool City Region. The client for the competition is Landlife with funding for the competition provided by the Northwest Regional Development Agency (NWDA). Entries are invited from architects or architect-led teams, which will be judged anonymously at the First Stage.

Mesir: International Competition for Urban design of Ramses Square, Cairo

Deadline for submission 1st Jan 2009.

Ramses Square which is of important historical and urban value needs to be redeveloped in order to meet with the existing urban and traffic conflicts, therefore the Egyptian Government decided to issue an international planning & urban design competition in order to reach the best solution of the Square in the light of a comprehensive planning vision of Cairo City Center which is of great historical, urban and cultural value. The ministry of Cultural affairs has commissioned the National Organization for Urban Harmony (NOUH) to tender this competition in line of the guidelines and regulations of the Union of International Architects (UIA) and other relevant local agencies and authorities in Egypt. The Competition aims at producing an urban design plan for Ramses Square within a comprehensive vision for the city center of Cairo. It is open to all architects, planners and urban designers, either individuals or teams.

PEMASUKAN KARYA
Para peserta diberi kebebasan untuk menampilkan rancangannya dengan teknik penggambaran pilihan masing-masing (berwarna atau hitam-putih) namun harus dibuat di atas kertas putih ukuran A2, bukan kalkir (tracing paper), lalu ditempel pada karton tebal (dupleks, dll) maksimal 6 lembar. Penyajian hasil karya dalam kertas dengan formasi sebagai berikut:

Pemberian identitas pada Lembar gambar hanya menggunakan nama samaran yang diperoleh pada saat penjelasan teknis. Peserta tidak diperkenankan memberi identitas pada lembar gambar selain nama samaran tersebut.
Identitas lengkap peserta dituliskan dalam lembar tersendiri kemudian diamplop dengan kondisi tertutup rapat (dilem). Amplop identitas tidak diberi keterangan apapun.

Batas waktu terakhir penerimaan di Sekretariat Panitia Sayembara adalah hari senin, 27 Desember 2008, pukul 15.00 wita.

PENJURIAN
Penjurian Tahap I: Uji Syarat dan Tuntutan
Pada tahap pertama, semua karya para peserta sayembara akan diseleksi dan dinilai oleh para juri untuk memilih maksimum 20 karya peserta berdasarkan standar syarat dan tuntutan sayembara yang telah ditentukan. Keputusan Juri tidak dapat diganggu-gugat.
Penjurian Tahap II: Uji Display
Pada tahap kedua, 20 karya peserta terbaik dipamerkan secara terbuka dan akan dinilai oleh para juri untuk mendapatkan 3 karya terbaik. Nominator 3 karya terbaik membuat animasi karya. Keputusan Juri tidak dapat diganggu-gugat.
Penjurian Tahap III: Presentasi
Pada tahap ketiga, 3 karya peserta terbaik akan dinilai oleh para juri dan beberapa juri kehormatan melalui presentasi langsung dengan sistem tanya jawab. Keputusan Juri tidak dapat diganggu-gugat.

PENGUMUMAN NOMINASI DAN PEMENANG
Pengumuman nominasi tahap I dan nominasi tahap II peserta sayembara akan dilaksanakan sesuai jadwal dan diberitahukan langsung kepada para peserta melalui alamat dan e-mail masing-masing serta melalui media lokal.
Pengumuman pemenang sayembara akan dilaksanakan secara langsung oleh Juri pada acara pameran sesuai jadwal yang telah ditentukan dan diberitahukan langsung kepada para peserta melalui alamat dan e-mail masing-masing serta melalui media lokal.

HAK PUBLIKASI
Panitia berhak untuk mengumumkan, memperbanyak atau mereproduksi gambar karya-karya yang masuk untuk keperluan publikasi.

LINGKUP SAYEMBARA
Sayembara ini adalah sayembara perancangan arsitektur yang dilaksanakan dan disajikan dalam bentuk gagasan arsitektur pada tingkat rancangan skematik dan pra-rancangan.
Program ruang secara umum diberikan kepada peserta dan peserta diharapkan dapat mengkaji dan mengembangkannya, terutama yang menyangkut penyediaan ruang-ruang yang dipandang perlu akibat tuntutan fungsional, teknis, estetis maupun simbolis.
Objek perancangan lahan dengan batas-batas yang diberikan sesuai kebutuhan yang diminta. Usulan-usulan perancangan untuk area di luar lahan diperbolehkan.

LOKASI DAN TAPAK
Lokasi dan Tapak terletak di bagian barat kampus Gunungsari Timur UNM yang dibatasi jalan A.P. Pettarani (Barat), Jl. Mapala (Utara) dan Jl. Raya Pendidikan (Selatan).

BATASAN PERANCANGAN
Fungsi utama bangunan adalah sebagai pusat pelayanan akademik dalam lingkup Universitas Negeri Makassar, sekaligus menjadi ICON Universitas Negeri Makassar dan memberikan nilai tambah bagi lingkungan sekitar.

KETENTUAN DAN KRITERIA
Arsitektur Pusat Pelayanan Akademik UNM diharapkan memberikan sumbangan positif bagi perkembangan arsitektur dan lingkungan binaan di Indonesia pada umumnya dan Makassar pada khususnya.

Arsitektur Pusat Pelayanan Akademik UNM bukan merupakan tiruan dari bangunan yang telah ada, merepresentasikan bangunan gedung pendidikan yang modern futuristik, mencerminkan kekhasan lokal, elegan, inovatif, progresif, dan tidak mudah usang ditelan zaman.
Bangunan terdiri atas bangunan utama dan bangunan pendukung. Bangunan utama terdiri atas podium (5 lantai) dan tower (12 lantai).

Gedung Pusat Pelayanan Akademik hendaknya dapat mengakomodasi kecenderungan arah perkembangan arsitektur di Indonesia ke depan, dengan mempertimbangan aspek iklim tropis, serta mendukung upaya penggunaan enerji yang efisien, memperhitungkan aspek keamanan, kenyamanan, keawetan, pemeliharaan, dan keartistikan (atraktif).

Disain Tata Ruang Dalam harus mencerminkan efisiensi penggunaan ruang, bersifat terbuka pada bagian layanan akademik, berlanggam modern kontemporer yang sesuai dengan karakter bangunan pendidikan dan mampu mewadahi kebutuhan fleksibiltas penerapan teknologi informasi dan komunikasi yang terus berkembang dari waktu ke waktu.

Unsur atau karakter kelokalan yang dipadu dengan semangat modern kontemporer akan menjadi nilai tambah yang dapat memperkaya kualitas rancangan arsitektur
Disain pengolahan fasade yang mendukung upaya Efisiensi Energi bagi ruang-ruang di dalamnya, sebagai area bekerja.

Penyediaan aksesbilitas pencapaian bagi para penyandang cacat baik di area dalam dan luar bangunan.

Taksiran biaya pembangunannya masih dalam koridor yang wajar. Spesifikasi teknisnya diupayakan menggunakan bahan-bahan yang mudah didapat dan dengan harga terjangkau.
Bangunan dengan kelas biaya pembangunan lebih kurang 5 juta per m2.

International Design Competition for Green Architecture

Initiatives undertaken in the building and construction sector to counter environmental woes are by far the most effective. Studies have shown that the abatement costs of CO2 emissions in the building sector are in fact negative, i.e., sustainable design makes money for developers and owners. Yet, the industry has only begun to scratch the surface when it comes to making a real change. Building professionals have a real opportunity to make a difference.

The inaugural FuturArc Prize for sustainable design launched by BCI in 2008 chose the latter approach. Over 200 entrants from 15 countries submitted the most creative designs combining sustainability and architectural ingenuity. By popular demand BCI has decided to repeat FuturArc Prize. As in 2008, the FuturArc Prize 2009 aims to trigger continued change in the way we approach building, and showcase innovative ideas and solutions for sustainable design. Bisnis.com 24 Jul 2008, FuturArc, jurnal arsitektur kelompok media konstruksi dan arsitektur BCI Group, kembali menggelar sayembara karya arsitektur bertajuk FuturArc Prize 2009 dengan total hadiah mencapai Rp300 juta.

Konsultan Riset dan Pengembangan BCI Asia Perwakilan Indonesia Dian Putra mengatakan sayembara perancangan arsitektur hijau tingkat internasional itu diumumkan pada 19 Juli 2008, dan seluruh karya harus sudah diterima panitia paling lambat pada 31 Desember.

Para pemenang akan menerima penghargaan dan hadiah pada acara tahunan yang cukup bergengsi, yaitu BCI Asia Top 10 Award 2009 pada Mei 2009.

Dewan juri terdiri dari para ahli green building tingkat internasional, yakni Nirmal Kishnani (dari Singapura), Ray Cole dan Kevin Hydes (AS), Kazuo Iwamura (Jepang), Stephen Siu Yu Lau (Hong Kong), dan Deo Prasad dari Australia.

Dia mengatakan BCI Asia Perwakilan Indonesia mengundang para arsitek profesional dan mahasiswa arsitektur untuk mendaftar sebagai individu maupun kelompok multidisiplin untuk merancang bangunan ramah lingkungan.

Sayembara FuturArc Prize 2009, lanjutnya, akan berlangsung paperless atau tanpa kertas, dan semua karya didaftarkan secara online sejak 15 Juli 2008 melalui www.futurarc.com/prize2009. Proses penjuriannya juga dilaksanakan secara online.

Ada 3 kategori sayembara :
1. Sayembara Desain Arsitektur

2. Sayembara Desain Interior

3. Sayembara Desain Artwork
• Panel artwork & Sculpture Lobby Hotel
Hadiah : Rp. 5.000.000,- untuk 1 (satu) orang pemenang+ Piala Hadiprana Award & Kesempatan bekerja magang di departemen Artwork Grahacipta Hadiprana.
